Lab Pack Services

||||

Many R&D labs, manufacturing labs, schools, hospitals and medical facilities accumulate small containers of five gallons or less of unwanted or expired laboratory chemicals over a period of time. Legacee Environmental specializes in this type of disposal, commonly known as “lab packing”.

Our Lab Pack team, led by a Master-degreed chemist, is well versed in lab pack protocol and all work is performed in accordance with EPA and  DOT guidelines.  Our turnkey service includes all facets of proper lab pack management including computerized waste inventory, segregation, packaging, transportation, proper waste processing/disposal and required paper work and documentation.

Here is an overview of how our lab pack process works:

Chemical Inventory

Our lab pack specialist can inventory all unwanted and expired chemicals and other waste materials that have been identified for disposal and compile a computerized inventory list using our in-house electronic database. If you prefer to submit your own inventory click the following link; External link opens in new tab or windowDownload Lab Pack Inventory Form.

Identification and Classification

Once the inventory is completed we will classify and segregate all lab pack items according to chemical compatibility (i.e. flammables, corrosive liquids, oxidizers, water reactives, etc.). If items are unknown in nature, field testing will be utilized to identify characteristics for any unknown waste. Lab analysis may be required if field testing is not conclusive

Packaging and Labeling

Our technicians will properly pack all chemicals into appropriately sized DOT-approved containers for proper transport. All containers are properly labeled, including a content inventory, and marked to comply with US DOT regulations.

Manifesting and Documentation

Once properly packaged Legacee will prepare all waste characterization documents for approval to the designated permitted disposal facility. Prepare all appropriate documents for shipping to include manifest, labels, and land disposal restriction notifications (LDR).

Transportation and Disposal

Your waste will be picked up and transported by our own permitted transporter to its final destination at a permitted disposal facility.
